Moulding Plastic Worms

Made In Italy - Volume 1 - The Infamous (online edition)

Made In Italy - Volume 1 - The Infamous was the first comic I made for the publishing house online Hybris Comics in 2006.

Set in the ghetto of a large city, renamed Negropoli by its residents, the balloon Urban tells the odyssey of four boys who live to shop and dream of the great crime, because life has not taught him much. After stealing the gun of a police officer, our four unlikely heroes decide to take their business to a higher level, taking the example of Banda Magliana. Their plan? Obviously, the seizure of a "shameful."

Made In Italy - The Infamous pulp is a reflection on the ideology that drives hidden in a more or less aware of the generations born in the 80s onwards. It 's the way of the cross that drives the kids of Gomorra and the Crime Novel, and total blind adherence to the logic of neoliberalism and the commodification everything. Our protagonists are pure
SURFACE, icons of frustrated narcissism so typical of this era.

We decided to maintain an indefinite reason for the setting and cultural archetypes, still without a pretext realism: we believe that this type of imagery Gangsta has a non-territorial nature: for example, Scarface is revered as a cultural icon is in Naples and in the Mexican barrios (and the rest of the world). Made In Italy indirectly tells the death of politics and the end of freedom, a wave of mediocrity and a lack of wer-culture that is resetting the dreams of the "scorched youth" that is chopped dalla macchina del precariato e dell'incertezza.
